I must be sidetracked! I haven’t updated this site since LAST WED, bad Sybir! Hmm, Rain’s physique is delicious (see previous post, he so impressed me I switched out a main character to look like him-no offense to Clay, but it needed to be done…needed a warrior and not an artist), maybe that’s what’s doing it. Or, I’m loving my fellow bloggers/tweeters like @dlshubert, @candacehavens, @Jackie_Kessler, @Nick_Kelly & @heatherbrewer right now. They are keeping me way to engaged online and interacting! Or, I’ve been writing/working…or even chasing small child around?
Can we say all of the above?
Hell, I spent three hours changing my hair color this past Friday because I was feeling ick and uninspiring. I hate that. I don’t like ick feelings. I’m not sure about my fellow writers. I can’t speak for ANY of them. But if I am trying to write, I tend to have to get in the head of my heroine (let’s face it, I can only get so far INTO my hero if you know what I mean – he is a GUY – so yes, i get, hmm….purrs and grins, sidetracked). So, off to the salon/spa…and hair color, voila, changed. I was going for the Goddess of Ice. ANd somehow, I got Goddess of …well, blended me! Ack.
God bless my husband (he does so well with dealing with all the characters in my head and at any given moment in reality…loving wife, loving mother, and even warrior bitch).
OMG.

brunette and will still kick your ass
I’m a brunette (and yes, I have been a blonde longer than I’ve been alive, but my hair is slowly darkening … damn that getting old thing PFFFT…I need to learn to deal. At least it is not Grey yet!) It is that darn Greek heritage. Everyone else in my family (those I am related TO), but my husband and son, is dark haired and dark eyed. I get my eyes from Grama. We’re the only blue-eyeds in a while. She keeps telling me it’s a sign. I’m a little afraid to ask ‘what KIND of sign’.
So, I went dark (the roots were showing….it’s short and I can’t pull it back and just head to the gym, NOW I have to put makeup on…pffft). And, I don’t want to be in the salon every four weeks. Let’s face it, that costs $$$.
WOW. I thought I’d be….well, I’ve done dark before (not really on purpose), on my own, but this time, I trusted Gabby to make it right. Damned if she didn’t.
Can I tell you what it means to an artist? To a writer? To be able to FEEL your characters? We are NO different than actors. We just don’t have a screen, cameras and a plethora of people around us to film our emotions. No. We have the page. The screen. And hot damn, I have BLUE in my hair! I’ve been threatening my mother with that for longer than I can remember (for the record, it didn’t even PHASE her because of how subtle we worked it in). LOL. Now, I’ve figured out how to make it professional, yet…kicky.
Yes. I work from home. I have for…gods, I think over 12 years. I do on-site meetings, and I am professional. I’m good at what I do when you need a proposal manager….WHEN YOU HAVE DONE THE WORK. Right now? Nico, my Nico, is allowing me the leeway to write, when and where I want. (Can we say awesome husband??) I write romance. I have since I can remember. I just use my skills to parlay it into a paying job until someone wise, talented and …well, gets me, finds me and says, hey, I want to represent you too.
Give me a goal
What are your goals…and how are you getting sidetracked?

Heh, I like being appreciated, but c’mon, you’re the gem here, not me. If I hopped in character for my series hero, I’d be chain smoking, doing yoga and martial arts every night, and sleeping with the enemy. None of those are gonna fly in this household!
I love your work and I’m glad you’re enjoying what you’re doing. The blue hair is awesome. Keep it up and knock ‘em dead (the bad guys, at least!).
Kisses,
Cat
Hehee…..we are well matched…except the sleeping with the enemy part..that might, just MIGHT, get a blade at ur throat…
Then again…knowing you….
*grins*
Hot damn? Now that is a great phrase, one which I’m intending to use. Three hours dying your hair? My toddler could colour it with a felt tip in 5 minutes. Cheaper option if you’re interested?
Mo, I think most of that time was because we were all talking
Spa days aren’t about the time…we KNOW it’s going to take time, that’s part of the fun!
