I was just over at JA Konrath’s blog checking out his long tradition of posting up New Year’s Resolutions for writers. He’s got a number of them I’m planning on putting on my list. As a published author, this year, I need to be focused on marketing, learning about tracking reporting. I need to get the eBook uploaded to SmashWords, B&N and anywhere else I can get it posted. And all that means keeping up with the blogs and social media, really getting out there and engaged with our readers. The challenge is I’m not only a fiction writer but also a non-fiction author – two drastically different markets. So, a few things on my writing to do list:
- Keep the blogs updated, all of them
- Manage my social networks better
- Schedule speaking engagements
- Self Publish 2 works of fiction (Phyxe, an urban fantasy romance and Ichi, urban fantasy crime) and 2 more works of non-fiction (Reduce Me & something not yet named)
- 1 thing a day to self promote
- I will edit, edit, edit and edit some more.
And all of this on top of keeping up with my UBBT requirements for 2012!
