Editing, it's a LONG process….

I  started writing my Goddess Chronicles in … oh hell, when did I start them? RWA, Atlanta? That’s when and where the idea sparked. You figure out what year…it was my first time away from the baby. (We won’t deviate into the drinking of an entire bottle of Jack because it was the FIRST time I was away from home and the young one, AND I was letting JT pour the damn drinks. Her drink pouring privileges have been revoked. Just sayin’).

Anyway….Phyxe’d, Goddess of Fire….went off to beta readers tonight…for the up-teenth time..whatever. I want a strong story line. So, I’m okay with it all. But can I just say? I’m HAPPY with the changes. I love writing. It feeds me, fuels me and keeps me moving forward. I’ve been blessed the last week or so to be able to focus entirely on my writing and editing AND I’ve been trying to use that time correctly.

It’s so easy to waste.

I sent Phyxe’d off. I know she might still need work, but I do love my beta readers, and they deserve first crack at the story line before I send it out to the next potential agent/publisher OR even do this on my own….. I’ve moved on to the Goddess of Earth and am 3 chapters in. I’m feeling SO much more powerful about my writing overall….

Here’s the thing…I’m still thinking I’ll self pub. I’ve spent YEARS training, writing, asking for feedback, adapting, changing and more…every book gets stronger…but, just as important…I need to let my Goddesses go…out there and move on. They are getting tired of me. LOL. And while, I could spend YEARS focusing on them….that means as many years layering in depth to them.

I’m pretty sure you’re going to love Phyxe’s fire, Gaian’s tiger, Glacial’s whims and Wystin’s flight. No, I haven’t figured out Zhanne, but she’s kinda hard to read. Give me time….plus…four books to get to her!
