Back on writing track….

It’s so easy for me to forget to post over here with so much going on. Yes, I’m writing or editing every day. I just tend to forget to post here about it.

Why?

Well, let’s see…during my waking hours I’m off busy being mom, running a freelance proposal/writing business, teaching martial arts and self defense, volunteering my time at the school, working as the Executive Director for Fit & Healthy Schools and helping my husband run our USANA business. Oh, and working on my 2nd degree black belt with the Ultimate Black Belt Test Team 8.

People wonder what I do all day. LOL. A lot. The crazy thing? Everything is rolling right along successfully.

So, where is my writing in this process?

Non-fiction? New book is already with reviewers! Available to the public on May 8, 2011. This was a 2 year long endeavor with 3 co-authors and although challenging, very rewarding as the finished product is absolutely beautiful. And, I can’t wait to post up the pre-order links just in time for Mother’s Day! Yes, I write fiction, but my PhD side requires I write some non-fiction too! And, this project…we’ll be working on DVDs in early May to go along with the book…go check it out and see if you’re interested or know someone who might be :)

Nine Months In Nine Months Out is a reference guide that offers often requested information about prenatal/postnatal wellness into one easy to read resource. Becoming a new Mom is an exciting rite of passage, but we know it can also be a challenging and stressful time.

Women want to be in the best shape they can be both physically and emotionally while pregnant (and beyond) and they are looking for the answers. This guide provides answers, information and suggestions from the first month of pregnancy right through nine months after giving birth.

Important topics include proper nutrition and fitness, from mom-to-be and new mom exercise tips to boosting your energy levels with easy recipes, to medical concerns such as how hormones affect depression and anxiety, and what tests to expect at each phase.  We also outline how you can manage your stress and so much more.

Fiction? I’ve been working on massive re-writes of Book 1 in my Goddess Chronicles. I have to say, it’s much better than it was as I work through the edit process. Right now, I’m stuck on how I want this chapter to evolve now with the changes that have happened in the previous chapters. All these changes are making for a far stronger story, but wow, attempting to changes things after you have them down once? A unique challenge all over again. As for Books 2 & 3? Editing process with Book 4 is about 30k in. I can’t wait to be done with this series and have them all blended together.

My other co-fiction project? Can I tell you how much I enjoy writing with my husband? It’s taught me how to say in the correct character’s head and really learn how men think. We’ve got a new project going with just ONE SCENE left to write…and this one scene has been a while in the making. The problem? Corrupted files when working between Mac and PC based files. I managed to resurrect all 60k+ words after three days. Shew. No scenes/words lost! Now, to get that final scene down so we can get to editing. It’s going to be an interesting blend.

I may be busy on a lot of projects, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I write about a book a year. Could I do more if I just focused on my writing? Oh, heck yeah! But to do that, the writing has to be paying the bills ;) It’s just a matter of time.

Namaste,

~S
