Spider Sense...
So....Samurai Jack (aka Smokey) found, well no, I found his real mommy and family today. And so....he went 'home' tonight. Cat and I are ok with this...and honestly, he was such a well behaved pup (except for the chewing of EVERYTHING, which is to be expected for his age - although he did sit still for the picture before deciding the camera was fair game), that we knew he had a loving family out there.So, I posted on craigslist today...hoping that my household wouldn't be upset with me. Hoping that 'I' wouldn't be upset with me. And hoping, that someone would answer the post the RIGHT way, because me, being me, phrased it specifically so someone had to answer with the correct response before I'd answer them, that darn communication degree...
And you know what? It's a damn good thing I listen to my intuition like the lesson taught me. It means I'm learning.
Now, to explain it all to a 4 year old tomorrow...that's a different challenge. But, it's better to explain the finding of his real mommy...than the angel puppy discussion that could occur too. So, it sucks...I've been working hard with Sam all week, training him to behave like a Rottie should, adjusting our household - cats included, adapting little man...and adapting myself, who is NOT a dog person...to have to give him back. But, I've learned some valuable lessons this week...I've learned to listen to that VOICE inside me, which was a hard lesson a couple of years ago...so it's nice to know, hey, I got IT.
To myself...shut up and listen. That voice is there for a reason.
And thank you to Cat, who just isn't surprised by anything anymore. Including bizarre happenings caused by his wife.
