The weekend....
Guess what I spent ALL day Saturday and Sunday doing??? Come on, guess?? :) Yoga Teacher Training!!!
And I thought I had fun and learned a lot at the YogaFit(R) for Kids training? The YogaFit Level 1 training was beyond that and helped me improve so much as a teacher and in my own practice. I was going to do a 4-week intensive training in Georgetown in August, but after some thought, I realized it was going to impact the house, the family and the business way too much for me to try it.
And gods, I'm sore. LOL. So now, the other benefit of not doing the 4 week intensive, I won't be dying!! Mentally or physically.
Two days of intensive training. We learned pose breakdowns, vinyasa yoga flows and a ton of other things that I can't wait to share with my Mind-Body Fusion class tomorrow night. Of course, I won't go as deep in most of the poses just because of the mix I have in class, but this is only going to improve my teaching skills. I'm really looking forward to being able to take the Level II class and the Anatomy and Alignment class. So, two actual yoga classes on Saturday, one more beginner and one more relaxing...with pose breakdowns all day. Today, an advanced class to start the am...if you think you can't sweat and strain during a yoga class, I challenge you to come take one of the advanced classes that I can teach now! As a previous bodybuilder/figure competitor, this WORKS you just as much as weight training can. My lats are still screaming at me to prove it. (Hehe, just showed Cat a bunch of them because I couldn't help it...)
I'm going to stick with the YogaFit training aiming for the 200 hour Registered Yoga Teacher certification first, and then move into the 500 hour which will include YogaTherapy. That's truly my goal...using yoga to help others heal and take back responsibility for their health and well-being. I love that YogaFit is bringing Yoga to the masses and teaching teachers to be able to respond to individual needs within the yoga classroom.
Namaste
