On Making Progress
Whooo, getting closer with Nano and the book, although I didn't make any drastic promises like J.A. Konrath did about finishing 50,000 words. Somehow, I can't see my shaving my head for ANTYHING. ;) Yes, I did just cut most of my hair off a few weekends ago, but it's still sexy and flippy, like a good romance writer's should be ;)
Story progress. I'm sure I've hit close to 50k already with the emails and the blogs AND the writing, but not all of it has been focused on story. For some reason, this year/this time, I'm just not as IN to my characters as I have been lately. Part of that is due to the struggle of getting my own business (other than writing) going...getting my writing out there to agents and the like, and just life in general.
All excuses, I know.
So, tonight...time to hit 30k, because I have a feeling, I'm behind my own goal, and not anyone else's. The last 2 years, I was almost done at this point of the month and here, I'm fighting to get the story moving. Maybe it was the plot line....good thing the goal here is for me to build my shell story so I can go back later and fight with it some more :)
Butt + Chair (perhaps we'll add in a glass of red wine to get the critic to shut up) ;)
