ATA Tournament - Richmond
What a weekend it’s been. Friday night, the mom’s took the Tiny Tigers to compete in Richmond, and they both did AWESOME! We tried to hang around to watch Sensei compete, but they changed the schedule, so back in the van with three very tired toddlers who refused to quiet down enough to sleep. Pup was finally out cold once we were in our own vehicle heading home
Little man scored 2 trophies for his participation as did little Lady C. He’s got the best Ninja somersaults in his weapons form! And she's got the BEST yells ever.
Day Two: I was up at 7am and on the road by 7:15 to head back down to Richmond to be there for opening ceremonies, which were very cool. And, I got to watch EVERYONE from our dojo compete, and I do believe everyone came home with a trophy or two. I’ll have to double check.
As for my session? Finally about 2:30 we were staged and waiting in our ring. Adult women, green thru purple belts - only six of us. First forms, of which, I went last. Next, weapons, only three competing: myself with Bo, a green belt with ….oh, I forget the name of those things….and another green with nunchakus. And then Sparring. I need to work on that….well, and getting rid of the nerves that kick in when I’m on display for this stuff. ARGH. My performance was good, it could have been better, as I always believe (those darn nerves). LOL
Anyway, my placing:
- 3rd - Forms
- 2nd - Weapons
- 3rd - Sparring
I think I want the XMA Bo - it’s lighter and silver…flashier
Plus, I can kick it up better than my heavier Bo staff - hehee.
Exhausted and my hips are screaming at me, but I had fun!
Namaste

Congrats and excellent work for both you and the pup. You should post pics of the both of you with your trophies :)
